Sparky 16:16 (acrylic on canvas, 2002)

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

The painting is important though not beautifully done, baptism is necessary for salvation. Starting at the left side of the painting working rightward it goes from pencil to paint signifying non-belief to believing. Finally at the right side of the painting when belief is clear and sure the painting shows a baptism with a dove descending upon them. There is a computerized version of this baptism that is a lot better, see computer art for that one.

Mat. 8:23-27/ Mar. 4:35-41 (acrylic on canvas, 2002)

Mat. 8:26- And He saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then He arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a Great calm.

This painting shows an analogy of Know Jesus, Know peace/ NO Jesus, No peace. Basically when our spirit is close to Him there is peace, and when the storms of life come our way, Jesus can either calm them, or give us peace as we go through them. The right side of the painting shows storms and waves and trouble. The man is chained to the apple of sin, and his body is fleshy and incomplete. But when he draws closer to God, he becomes whole and the water is calm. Notice the color of the man's flesh and the color of the vessel are the same. Jesus is wearing sun glasses? How dare you make him look prideful? You know what, Jesus is cool to me. And if He wants to wear sunglasses, can anyone stop Him? The sunglasses are for all the Pharisees out there who criticize my spelling.

Potters wheel Isa 45:9/ Isa.64:8 (charcoal on paper. 2002)

Woe unto him that striveth with his maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say unto HIM that fashioneth it, What makest thou? Or thy work, He hath no hands?

This charcoal drawing honors God as our creator and should cause us to examine ourselves. What kind of clay are you? Analogy -Our heart = clay. Hard clay is rebellious and difficult to work with and usually ends up getting broken. Whereas if our heart stays soft towards God then he molds it to his use. What kind of clay are you for God?

In the sleeves of the potter you can see a glimpse of the universe. The Master Potter owns the universe; He can do whatever he wants with HIS clay.

JOHN 10:09 (acrylic on canvases, 2003)

I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

There are several spiritual messages within this painted epistle. The little child walking with Jesus speaks volumes. We must be humble as a child. He holds our hand as we walk through this life. If you follow the path in the painting towards the background you will notice a bridge that is broken. The path represents our life; the bridge is the trial of our faith. And Jesus already knows that the bridge is broken, and He is taking us there to try our hearts. The vine on the left side of the painting is a Christian vine. The Door symbolizes Jesus is the way. The land is crooked, and so are most of our politicians. But if we hang on to Jesus He can get us through this crooked land.
